HMHS Class of 1963,
Our reunion planning committee met again last Sunday to firm
up plans for our 45th reunion. It will be the weekend of October
24-26 with the dinner on Saturday evening at the Merchantville
Country Club. (The most recent edition of the HAS Alumni News
incorrectly lists the date of the dinner as October 26.) As
of this evening, we have 65 registered attendees, including
45 members of the class. John Gibbs, who taught English for
one year at HMHS (our sophomore year) has accepted our invitation
to attend the class dinner.
In addition to reserving the Merchantville CC,
we have also made these decisions based on the input we received
from you:
We will have reserved seats for the Haddonfield - West Deptford
football game on Friday evening for those that wish to attend.
Following that, we have reserved the same room we had in 2003
at The Tap Room (known as R Macs in 2003 and Green Valley
Farms in the 1960s) for an informal social.
We will have a catered brunch in the high school
auditorium on Saturday morning. We will then break into smaller
groups to have a guided tour of the historical buildings in
Haddonfield, Citizens Bank Park and perhaps the Battleship
New Jersey if there is sufficient interest. We decided not
to pursue the Old City Philadelphia and NJ Aquarium options
due to little interest as shown on your pre-registration forms.
We can, of course, reinstate those options if we receive more
pre-registration forms showing an interest. You will be able
to choose only one option, and you may decide to choose none
if you'd like to do something on your own. We also hope to
arrange a tour of HMHS. We are also arranging a location where
we can go to just sit and chat anytime during the day.
We are also planning a service of thanksgiving and remembrance
on Sunday morning followed by a catered brunch in the cafeteria.

to attend as well as the lost list.
Every now and then one of you makes contact with someone we
haven't heard from in years, so please check the lost list
carefully. Please send information about yourself and a current
picture to our webmaster Mark McGrath (mfmcgrath@hotmail.com).
Mark reports that the site has had 450 hits since January!
Thanks to your generous contributions, for the
fifth consecutive year we will be awarding a $500 scholarship
to a HMHS senior.
If you have not pre-registered, please do so
since it is those pre-registrations that are shaping the reunion.
You may download a copy of the pre-registration
form from the web site. You will hear from us again in
about a month. Look for the registration form around August
1.
